Backlash is the newest, released in 2010. All of the songs on Backlash were written by Phil Kitze, and 2 of the songs were co-written by Phil Kitze and Bruce McCabe. Bruce, from the Hoopsnakes, and the Jonny Lang Band is the piano player on this and the other 2 CDs that Phil Kitze and the Resonators have out. Other special guests on “Backlash” and “The Sky is Clearing” include; Pat Hayes the leader of Lamont Cranston on harmonica, Virgil Nelson on Hammond Organ, and Jim Greenwell on sax, another Lamont Cranston veteran. These are some of the most respected musicians in the entire area.
“The Sky is Clearing” released on ’07, is half originals, also written by Phil Kitze, and some covers from Muddy Waters, Howlin’ Wolf, and Elmore James to name a few. Rockin’ roll and Rockin’ blues is what you’ll find on “Backlash”, and also on “The Sky is Clearing”. These are the 2 releases by Phil Kitze and the Resonators.
“Favorite Songs of the Past” by Phil Kitze is a compilation of familiar songs from the ’20s to the ’40s. It was recorded with a six piece acoustic band. Some of the most popular songs of yesteryear are available on this CD. This was recorded with seniors in mind. All fun singalong tunes.
